The KRCG 13 Backyard BBQ Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Barrington Broadcasters Group, KRCG 13, 10188 Old Hwy 54 N. New Bloomfield, MO 65063. Jefferson City HyVee, 3721 W. Truman Blvd., Jefferson City, Mo 65109, Missouri Beef Industry Council, 2306 Bluff Creek Drive, Columbia MO 65201 (“Sponsor”). Contest is void where prohibited. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.
HOW TO ENTER: No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this Contest. This promotion begins on June 22, 2013 at 5 a.m. and ends on September 19th at 5 p. m. (“Entry Period”). Entrants may enter this Contest by: visiting http://connectmidmissouri.upickem.net/engine/Welcome.aspx?contestid=96814#.UcR_svmsiSp and submitting an essay on why you should be picked for the KRCG 13 Backyard BBQ. Limit one entry per person for the duration of the Contest. All entrants will be required to provide their complete name, address, phone number and e-mail address. Sponsor will keep all entrants’ personal information confidential unless disclosure is required by law. Alternative method of entry: You may also entering by dropping off a letter stating why you should be picked for the KRCG 13 Backyard BBQ to KRCG 13, 10188 Old Hwy 54 N., New Bloomfield, MO 65063 during the promotion dates during business hours 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The essay must also include your name, address, phone and e-mail
All entries must be complete and legible in order to qualify, and will be void if they are, in whole or in part, incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, counterfeit, altered, or obtained through theft or fraud. Limit one entry per person for the duration of the Contest. All entries submitted online will be considered made by the authorized account holder of the email address. Duplicate or multiple entries will be disqualified. Use of any automated entry software is prohibited.
All entries become the property of Sponsor, and Sponsor reserves the right to use any information submitted by entrants. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s). Entrants also agree not to provide or upload any content which is defamatory, threatening, distasteful, racist, unlawful or otherwise objectionable.
Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or the authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Contest.
ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry and reside in the KRCG 13 viewing counties of Chariton, Randolph, Monroe, Ralls, Pike, Saline, Howard, Boone, Audrain, Pettis, Cooper, Callaway, Montgomery, Lincoln, Warren, Benton, Morgan, Moniteau, Cole, Osage, Gasconade, Franklin, Camden, Pulaski, Phelps, Crawford, Miller and Maries.
Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Sponsor and their family members or persons living in the same households of such individuals are not eligible to participate in this Contest. By entering this Contest, participants agree to abide by all terms of these Official Rules and to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsor. All federal, state, and local laws apply. Winners will be required to sign and return to Sponsor at the food delivery an affidavit of eligibility (except where prohibited) affirming their agreement to all terms, conditions, and restrictions in these Official Rules. You may only win a KRCG 13 contest once every 145 days.
PRIZES: ONE (1) Weekly Prize will be awarded. Weekly Prize is a KRCG 13 Backyard BBQ on Thursday (weather permitting) of each week held in the backyard of our weekly winner. Starting July 11th until September 26th with the exception of August 22nd and August 29th. KRCG 13 and Jefferson City Hy-Vee will provide a food package prize to feed 8 people valued at $35 each week. Approximate retail value of all prizes to be awarded totals $ 350 USD. Prizes may not be exchanged or redeemed for cash, sold, or traded. No prize transfer, assignment, or substitution by Winners is permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. The BBQ will be cancelled during inclement weather. If KRCG 13 must cancel the BBQ due to weather the prize winner will have the opportunity to hold their BBQ the next Thursday that we have a Backyard BBQ. No backyard BBQ on August 22nd and August 29th. Jefferson City’s HyVee will send Chef Riley to our hosts location and he will grill the meal for 8 people. Hosts are only responsible for supplying the location and drinks for their guests.
Winners will be solely responsible for any and all local, state, and federal taxes. Sponsor will report any individual winnings over $600 (in cash or fair market value of goods or services) in a one-year period to the Internal Revenue Service. Winners will receive a Form 1099 from Sponsor if Sponsor reports any winnings to the Internal Revenue Service.
CONTEST JUDGING CRITERIA: Entrants must write an essay on why they should be selected for the KRCG 13 Backyard BBQ. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges from KRCG 13 on creativity, the selected entries must host the BBQ at a location that KRCG 13 has signal capabilities for a Live Broadcast during the BBQ. If the selected winner lives at a location that does not have signal capabilities the selected winner will have the option of hosting the event at an alternate location or will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be chosen by KRCG 13. Judges will select Winner(s) from among all eligible entries each Friday. To be valid, all entries must be received no later than September 19, 2013 at 5 p.m. All decisions made by Judges are final. All decisions of Sponsor concerning all matters related to this Contest are final. Winners will be notified first by phone, then by e-mail if Sponsor is unable to locate Winners by phone. Winners must meet all eligibility requirements including the execution and delivery of all necessary releases. If any attempted notification is not successful within (two) days, the prize will be forfeited and Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner from among the remaining eligible entries.
CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS APPLY: Winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Proof of U.S. residency, age, and identity are required to claim a prize. Winners are subject to verification by Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. An entrant is not a winner of any prize unless and until entrant’s eligibility has been verified and entrant has been notified that verification is complete. In the event that a winner is determined to be ineligible or fails to respond to Sponsor within two (2) days of notification, the Prize will be forfeited and Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner from among the remaining eligible entries. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate the Contest without awarding the prizes if no eligible winners or alternate winners claim the prizes within the required time period.
Winners will be required to execute and return to Sponsor a liability release and affidavit of eligibility (except where prohibited) on the day of the delivery of the food prize.
Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor to use winner’s name and/or likeness and/or winning essay for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. Names and e-mail address of Sweepstakes participants may be used for future marketing solicitations by Sponsor.
LIMITATION ON LIABILITY: Sponsor will not be responsible for lost, late, damaged, defaced, incomplete, stolen, illegible, indiscernible, mutilated, illegally obtained, postage due or misdirected entries or for any typographical, or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Contest, or announcement of the prize and/or all Contest -related materials. By entering this Contest, each entrant forever discharges, releases, and holds harmless Sponsor and each of its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and each of its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, losses, damages, causes of action, suits, and demands of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest, however caused.
SPONSOR’S RESERVATION OF RIGHTS: These Official Rules are subject to modification by Sponsor. In the event of a dispute, all decisions made by Sponsor are final and binding. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any person who tampers with or abuses the entry process, or who otherwise acts in violation of these Official Rules. Sponsor further reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, or modify this Contest if, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of completion as planned, including due to force majeure or non-authorized human intervention that compromises or affects the administration, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes.
PRIVACY POLICY/DISCLOSURES OF INFORMATION: Sponsor may collect and use personal information that entrants provide to enter the Contest to actually conduct the Contest and contact the potential winners. Sponsor DOES NOT SELL any personal information it collects. Personal information includes any information that can be tracked back to a specific individual use, including name, postal address, and telephone number. NO PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT SPONSOR COLLECTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE CONTEST WILL BE GIVEN TO ANYONE WHO MAY CONTACT ENTRANTS FOR ANY PURPOSE NOT RELATED TO THE CONTEST.
