2014 KRCG 13 Backyard BBQ

Who Can Enter

1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants and nominees must be Missouri residents who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the KRCG viewing area which includes the counties of Chariton, Randolph, Monroe, Ralls, Pike, Saline, Howard, Boone, Audrain, Pettis, Cooper, Callaway, Montgomery, Lincoln, Warren, Benton, Morgan, Moniteau, Cole, Osage, Gasconade, Franklin, Camden, Pulaski, Phelps, Crawford, Miller and Maries, Missouri.

2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC , and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast stations KRCG (the “Station”), The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM , The Missouri Beef Council, the Jefferson City HyVee,  their subsidiary and affiliate companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.

How to Enter

(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per household.

(b) To enter, log onto www. ConnectMidMissouri.com and complete the official online entry form, with your name, address, phone number and birth date and describe to us creatively in 250 words or less why you should get to host the KRCG 13 Backyard BBQ. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted.

(c) The contest starts on Thursday, May 22, 2014 and ends on Monday, July 21, 2014 (the “Contest Period”). Entries must be received by Station by 12:00 p.m. CDT on each Monday during the Contest Period to qualify for the weekly judging. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.

(d) Each entry will be judged and scored by a panel of three (3)  judges comprised of Station and sponsor personnel, based on the following criteria:creativity (_70__%), desire (_15__%), newsworthiness (_15__%). . The decisions of our judges are final.

(e) Each Monday during the Contest Period, one (1) weekly winner (except May 26^th see schedule below) with the highest score will be determined by the judges based on the criteria set forth is subparagraph (d) above, for a total of nine (9) weekly winners. Remaining valid entries will carry over from week to week. Winners are subject to further review and approval by the Station based on technical requirements and geographic location. Winners will be contacted by phone. A live microwave signal must be tested from the location and the signal must be of broadcast quality before the winner can be confirmed by the Station.

(f) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.

The Prize(s)

1. Nine (9) weekly winners will be selected. Each weekly winner will receive a backyard BBQ for up to eight (8) people, the food for grilling will be supplied by sponsors, and may vary due to sponsors selection from week to week. With the exception of May 29^th BBQ, the main course will be beef. Each prize is valued at a minimum of $150 of $200, and winners will be notified to the exact amount of the prize. The BBQ party will take place each Thursday (except on the 5^th week it will be Wednesday, June 25^th). At least one of the Station’s talent as well as our sponsors will appear during the winner’s BBQ which will be broadcast during the Station’s 5:00pm and 6:00pm newscast. Station does not guarantee that Chef Riley will be present at all BBQ’s. Winners must host the BBQ on the broadcast date determined by Station. The Station has the right to cancel the BBQ in the event of severe weather, breaking news, or technical problems and will use reasonable efforts to reschedule contingent upon the Station’s schedule. If the BBQ cannot be rescheduled to fit within the Station’s broadcast schedule, no alternate prize of any kind will be awarded. There will be no BBQ on July 3^rd.

2. Winners will be notified by phone., Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within 24 hours of notification.Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.

3. If a winner cannot be notified within 24 hours, does not meet the required technical specifications, cancels the BBQ, cannot hold BBQ on required date, or does not sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility within 48 hours, then the BBQ will be forfeited. Time permitting an alternate winner may be determined by the judges as the entrant with the next highest score, in their sole and absolute discretion.

4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.

5. The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules. Winners must sign a W-9 form.

6. Only one prize will be awarded per household within 150 days.

7. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Group, Inc., are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.

8. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.

9. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous

1. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at KRCG 13, 10188 Old Hwy 54N. New Bloomfield, MO 65063 and on the Station’s website www.ConnectMidMissouri.com.

2. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to KRCG 13, 10188 Old Hwy 54N. New Bloomfield, MO 65063 by September 30, 2014.

3. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Communications, LLC, The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM , The Missouri Beef Council, and the Jefferson City HyVee accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.

5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.

6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates

7. By entering this contest, each entrant waives any and all claims of liability against the Station, any sponsors, and their respective parent, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents, for any and all claims, loss, damage or injury which may occur as a result of entrant’s participation in this contest.
